National Student Clearinghouse Appoints Pamela M. Gilligan As Director Of Northeast Region

HERNDON, VA, SEPTEMBER 12, 2001 - The National Student Clearinghouse, a national not-for-profit student record reporting corporation, today announced the appointment of Pamela M. Gilligan as director of the northeast region, effective September 24, 2001.

In this position, Ms. Gilligan will lead efforts to promote Clearinghouse services and solutions to administrative managers within the post-secondary academic community in the northeast, a 14-state region from Maine to Washington DC. Specifically, Ms. Gilligan will be responsible for advancing college and university participation in Clearinghouse services: DegreeVerify, EnrollmentVerify, and EnrollmentSearch. To date, the National Student Clearinghouse has successfully partnered with and provides services to over 2,500 colleges and universities nationwide, representing more than 85% of the country’s enrolled students.

"In addition to her extensive experience in the area of financial aid, she brings outstanding business relationships skills to the position, which will particularly enhance the Clearinghouse’s efforts to expand our regional and national exposure for our DegreeVerify program with colleges and universities," said Daniel R. Boehmer, president of the National Student Clearinghouse. "We are extremely pleased to have Pam join the Clearinghouse management team."

"I am thrilled to be joining the Clearinghouse during an exciting stage in the company's development of its national verification programs," said Pam Gilligan. "The National Student Clearinghouse has an excellent reputation and track record of providing the highest quality reporting solutions to the post-secondary academic community. I look forward to working with northeast regional colleges and universities on behalf of the Clearinghouse."

Prior to joining the National Student Clearinghouse, Ms. Gilligan served as director of financial aid for the Berklee College of Music in Massachusetts, where she was responsible for financial aid and debt management counseling programs for more than 3,000 students and the management of cost center funds in excess of $24 million annually. She also managed the installation of advanced electronic processes related to aid delivery, including the implementation of an integrated student database system. Prior to that, Ms. Gilligan served as associate director of financial aid with Boston College, and as the director of financial aid with both Regis and Mount Ida Colleges in Massachusetts. Pam has more than 20 years of experience in financial aid program management, is the immediate past-president of EASFAA (Eastern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators), and a current member of the NASFAA (National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators) board of directors through October 2001.
