Richard Reeves Joins Clearinghouse As Director of Research
HERNDON, VA, June 7, 2006 - The National Student Clearinghouse, a non-profit
organization founded by the higher education community that provides
educational verification and research services to post-secondary
institutions and high schools, today announced the appointment of Richard
Reeves as its Director of Research. In his role as Director of Research, Mr.
Reeves will manage the Clearinghouse's educational research service,
StudentTracker, which is used by educational institutions and organizations
throughout the country to query the Clearinghouse's national student record
database in order to analyze enrollment and graduation patterns.
"Richard offers a wealth of real world experience in data mining and
research from within the university environment," said Dr. Jeffery M.
Tanner, Vice President of Higher Education Development at the Clearinghouse,
"I believe his knowledge and insights will help us more fully
understand and utilize the Clearinghouse's unique student data resources in
ways that will better benefit both our member institutions and the higher
education community."

Mr. Reeves has nearly a decade of experience in data research and
analysis in higher education. Before joining the Clearinghouse, Mr. Reeves
was a Senior Research and Planning Associate at Cornell University. There he
was responsible for financial aid research and reporting and enrollment
management modeling for the university's admissions offices. He also
conducted policy analysis for undergraduate financial aid and admissions,
reviewed and tested several student data marts, and designed and
administered the athletic recruitment database. Prior to Cornell, Mr. Reeves
was the Director of Enrollment Research and Technology at Johns Hopkins
University where he was responsible for the institution's undergraduate data
warehouse, survey research program, policy analysis, and providing research
consulting to its administrative offices. He has also taught statistical
concepts as an Adjunct Professor at Syracuse University. Mr. Reeves is a
Ph.D. candidate in the Statistical Sciences Department at Cornell
University, where he received an MS in Statistics. He also has an MA in
Experimental Psychology from Towson University and a BA in Psychology from
Frostburg State University.
